Taking the bi-directional separate zipper of a jacket/jacket as an example.

① Slide the top slider down until it contacts the bottom slider

② Insert the pins firmly into the base and align the reinforcing straps on both sides

③ Fix the bottom slider in place, then gently slide the top slider upwards

Zipper structure

The zipper has the following parts

a) Slide block

A slider is the movable part of a zipper that separates or interlocks two sets of elements (longitudinal beams) to form a chain. According to the purpose, various types of sliders can be used.

b) Elements

The elements are the parts on each side of the zipper that detach or interlock with each other when passing through the slider. Elements can be teeth, ladles, and coils

c) Adhesive tape

The narrow width material to which the component is to be connected. The durability of tape is the main factor affecting the performance of zippers. Adhesive tape can be cotton, synthetic fiber, or fiber odorless.

d) Chain

The zipper chain is composed of two interlocked element longitudinal beams, which lock and unlock as the slider moves.

e) Stop

The design of the top and bottom of the chain or longitudinal beam can prevent the slider from leaving the chain.

f) Zipper

A handle or component connected to a slider to move it. They may be small, large, circular, with a plain pattern on the zipper manufacturer's logo.
