Sprockets are the most easily worn parts of the entire equipment and should be regularly inspected. Once the hardened layer of the sprocket teeth is worn out, the tooth blocks of both sprockets must be replaced simultaneously. If not replaced in a timely manner, the "hook effect" of the chain (that is, the chain is not easily detached after meshing with the sprocket) is not only very obvious, but also can cause chain vibration, exacerbating chain wear.
Replacing the tooth block of the sprocket does not require removing the chain. For the sake of convenience in replacement, the teeth of the front and rear sprockets are all separated tooth blocks. Replacing the gear block can be done in the angle space outside the sprocket wrap angle, and the gear block is not involved in operation at this position. After replacing the first tooth block, rotate the sprocket by an angle, then replace the second block, and so on, to replace all the sprocket tooth blocks. It must be noted that when replacing the gear block, the corresponding fasteners must be replaced at the same time. And a torque wrench must be used, with each bolt at the head and tail having a tightening torque of 1080N. m and 630N. m respectively.
When the running surface of the roller is worn or the bearing is damaged, the roller must be replaced. It is most convenient to replace the roller on the lower track of the horizontal section. The traction component is a vulnerable part of the conveyor. Regularly inspect the chain plate for cracks, detachment from the pin shaft or sleeve, and check for severe wear on the sleeve. When the hardened layer is worn off, the chain must be replaced. The replacement method is to replace both chains at the same time, install new chains, and replace the bottom plate and side plate of the material trough if there are cracks, damages, or deformations. The appropriate tension of the conveyor chain is a major factor in the operational performance of the conveyor. In the straight section, if there is a bending phenomenon at the hinge of the chain (pin shaft, pin sleeve) or if the roller does not lift on the lower track when approaching the tail, it indicates that the tension of the chain is insufficient. The tensioning bolt should be adjusted to move the tail wheel backward. When the load is running, if the roller lifts off the track in the curved section, it indicates that the tension is too high and the tensioning bolt should be adjusted to move the tail wheel forward. When adjusting, it is important to ensure that the tail wheel shaft is perpendicular to the centerline of the conveyor to avoid the chain being skewed on one side.
